It is too cool to want to be outside today. Yesterday, it was cloudy and rainy but today is just plain cold. We've pretty much stayed inside except to do laundry. Mike is the best t-shirt folder in the world due to his intensive military training. We always do the laundry together. We take our books with us. He's reading a Brad Thor novel and I'm reading a Robert Jordan novel I checked out of the library here.
We're still having fun just doing our thing. We brought some games to play (which sounds like a fun thing to do this evening). When we feel we've been shut up too long inside, we take a walk. That's a good thing. In the mornings, we take a fast walk for about an hour. Then sometimes in the afternoon, we take another walk unless we've gone exploring in a new town and walk there all day.
The road in front of this park is sand. You wouldn't believe how many roads are just sand here. So we walk on it sometimes and it feels like we're at the beach. Not!
Monday, we had the most exciting day of me cleaning and Mike working to reinforce shelving in the garage area. We have a neighbor (fulltime here) who we met and they gave us a jar of jalopeno jelly they make and sell. IT WAS WONDERFUL! If you like pepper jelly, you'll love this. We will most likely have to purchase some from them to bring home.
Today, we actually cooked. We had a can of Progresso Italian Vegetable soup and a peanut butter sandwich. It was good. That has really been our only meal today and it was 3:00 when we had that. We were so busy working and doing laundry and walking that we didn't realize it was that late before we ate. Imagine having that much fun! I guess we really are retired when we sit around discussing whether to take the trash out during the morning or afternoon walk. We've watched westerns all day on T.V. (I wish Mike would let me have the remote for a while.)
I'm having technical difficulties with my computer getting online so I've been avoiding it for a few days. Thank you Jesse for reminding me to get back to it. My computer won't recognize my phone now for some weird reason but it will recognize Mike's. (You traitor laptop!)
Well, it's 6:15 and we're getting all dressed up (in our jammies) to just chill (with the heat on, of course). Probably even make some hot tea. Wish we had some hot Dunkin Donuts. Oh well.
